RVupgrades Has the Camper Supplies You Need

Embarking on a camping trip with an RV is a little bit like taking a boat out on the water for an inshore trip. Sure, you’ll be able to head back to port for essentials like fuel and other supplies, but when you’re on the water you don’t want to get caught without the supplies and replacement parts and gear you need at the moment.

Sometimes when you’re really off the grid at primitive campsites with minimal facilities and no electricity, it really is like you’re out on the water. You’re only as prepared as you’ve made yourself, and the oversight of essential gear can quickly become an annoyance that everyone you’ve brought along on the trip will feel.

Usually, lacking a few essentials or just redundant copies of them is a minor hassle, and all it requires is for you to take a note of what you’re missing and just remember to stock up on it before your next outing. At other times, the lack of essential camper supplies can make itself much more pronounced. Without some essentials, you could set yourself up for a much less enjoyable trip than you’d otherwise have had.

Here at RVupgrades, we understand that sometimes we’re all human and sometimes you can forget a thing or two. But we also love the satisfaction that comes with setting up camp and making new memories, and we have a lot of experience in it. Therefore, we’ve put together a list of some of the essential camper supplies and RV accessories that you can find right here on our site to make your next trip as enjoyable as it can be. Though this is not a comprehensive list, it will get you well on your way to the makings of a successful and enjoyable journey.

Towing and Stabilizing Essentials
Probably the most visible of the essentials you’ll need for just about any RV trip is a suite of hitching equipment and essentials for setting up camp. Naturally, these will be directly tied to the equipment you’re using and some may not be applicable to your specific situation, but we offer a full suite of hitching necessities to make your trip not only possible but as comfortable as can be. Camper supplies such as jacks and levelers help to make it much easier to get your camper hitched and unhitched and in many situations it’s a matter of necessity to level your camper. On top of the fact that it’s a mild (to a major) inconvenience to be going about your day on a slant, you run the risk of permanently damaging your absorption refrigerator, if you have one.

Jacks make it possible for you to hitch and unhitch your trailer, which will make it easier for you to pick a campsite and then to set up. We offer powered jacks to make it easier to handle the load of raising or lowering your connections on your camper. We offer stabilizing jacks from Ultra-Fab and BAL as well as hydraulic jacks from BigFoot to give you a little extra power when you’re working with your camper. We even offer you your choice of levels so you can check the actual level of the camper and get the perfect set.

For towing and mobility, we offer receiver hitches, fifth wheel hitches, hitch couplers, adapters and more. You can also find hitch pins and locks right here on our site, and it never hurts to double up on some of the smaller parts. Smaller parts have an odd habit of disappearing at the most inconvenient of times.

Awning Care and Awning Accessories
Your RV awning probably gets a lot more use than you think, and it certainly takes it on the chin from the elements. When you’re outside but still in the comfort of the camp, your RV awning keeps the sun out of your eyes when the weather is clear, and the rain off your back when it isn’t. It takes a whole lot of radiation from all the sunlight it gets subjected to, in addition to any weight it has to carry in snow. If it gets windy, that awning and the awning arm have to put up with all those stresses too.

Over time, awnings get terribly worn and might not offer the same protection that they did when they were new. We offer the care products and accessories that you can use to prolong the life of your awning with the right love and attention. For ongoing care and protection, we offer 303 Fabric Guard to help your awning repel dirt, grease, and water. It helps keep your awning dry and creates a barrier against the elements. We also offer Camco Awning Cleaner and Awning Waterproofer, both of which will add to your awning’s longevity. Keeping your awning waterproofed doesn’t just keep you comfortable and dry when you’re under it. It helps prevent premature decay of the fabric too. We also offer awning cover kits and cinch straps to keep your awnings properly stowed and stored, and awning hardware like knobs, locking pins, springs, and tensioners.

By the way, for those times when you’re enjoying the outdoors under the cover of your RV awning, we offer awning mats to help keep the interior of your RV clean and dry. Many of our awning mats allow dirt and sand to sift right through, keeping you clear of the ground and also helping to prevent you from tracking it through your RV.

Freshwater Products
Some of the most essential camper parts and accessories are the ones we use to treat and handle water, including drinking water. Regardless of where your campsite is and what type of access it offers you to potable water, water is something you’re going to need on a daily basis, and not just to drink. You’ll be using water to clean your dishes, keep your camper sanitary and maybe even to wash your clothes, depending on your stay.

Here at RVupgrades, you’ll find hoses you can designate for use with the freshwater that you’ll need for cooking and drinking, as well as hoses that you can designate for wastewater. We offer hose fittings and regulators that you’ll probably want to keep on hand to ensure that you will be able to fit your hose to the water source and protect your plumbing from any excesses of pressure. We offer water pumps to make it easier for you to get access to water, as well as plumbing necessities and sinks and faucets. For those times you need to make repairs to any portion of your plumbing or to swap out parts when you have time back home, we offer Hardware Express and Lasalle Bristol pipes and fittings to make sure that your plumbing flows smoothly.

For your drinking water supply, we offer water filter systems and cartridges that will render water safer for you and your family to drink during your trips. Our filter cartridges and systems from Aqua-Pure can help minimize particulate matter, lead and unwanted flavors or odors from your water. We also offer faucet aerators to reduce your water usage while you’re in camp.

Another consideration you want to make to improve the quality of your water supply for consumption is the need for an RV water softener. Hard water, which is prevalent throughout much of the United States, doesn’t only offer unwanted flavor. Allowing hard water to run through your lines and appliances will result in a buildup of scale over time, which can damage the performance of your plumbing and fittings, compromise the function of your appliances and overall have a negative effect on the value of your RV or RV trailer. We’re proud to offer not only the testing equipment you might want to check the chemistry of your water but also water softener systems from On The Go and replacement resin refill. They are incredibly efficient and are a very economical way to prevent unnecessary damage from prolonged exposure to hard water.

Wastewater and Sanitation Supplies
You don’t only need access to fresh water for drinking and cleaning, though. You’ll need access to water to handle your sanitation needs, and you’ll need the tools and accessories to manage and dispose of your wastewater. Here at RVupgrades, we offer the tanks, hoses, adapters, and treatments you’ll need not just to manage your wastewater, but to be comfortable in your campsite.

Every camper needs to have a holding tank that not only fits within the camper comfortably but offers the capacity you need. It’s helpful when your tank makes it easy for you to empty it and offers other user-friendly features. Here at RVupgrades, you can find everything from Barker’s 5 Gallon Tote-Along RV Waste Tank to their 42 Gallon Tote Along Portable Holding Tank. On the one hand, you have easy portability in a convenient profile that will be easy to stow out of the way. On the other, you have an extremely rugged holding tank with great capacity that is easy and comfortable not only to transport but to empty. We offer options for holding tanks on these ends and for every need in between. We offer tank rinsers that are clear so you can see if your tank is actually empty, sewer hoses and fittings to make sure that you’ll be able to easily empty your tank as well as repair parts for when you need to make a quick fix or two.

We also offer you the chemicals and treatments you need to make sure that your system is healthy and doesn’t present undesirable odors. We have treatment to help your system digest the tissue you use, keep the tank from smelling, and facilitate decomposition.

Electrical Accessories
If you want the convenience of electricity at your campsite, and you probably do, you’re going to encounter one of two situations. Either your campsite offers you access to electricity, or it is a primitive one that does not. You’ll probably need a shore power cord, either way, to hook yourself up to the camp’s power source or to a generator if you need to provide your own. Here at RVupgrades, we offer power cord sets and adapters to make sure that you never need to go without the comfort of power.

We offer battery chargers so that you never need to experience the inconvenience of dead or dying batteries, and generators so that you can power your setup even in an unpowered campsite. In addition, we offer solar power systems so that you can really go off the grid. In addition to being useful, solar power gives you the freedom to go your own way, especially in areas that get a lot of sunlight. You can also find adapters and replacement parts for electrical accessories here at RVupgrades to make your trips more comfortable and to cover you in the event that a part breaks, goes missing, or is incompatible.

Lots of Other RV Supplies and Camper Accessories
Here at RVupgrades, you’ll find these camper supplies but also so much more. We offer appliances for the interior of your RV like ranges, furnaces and washing machines so you can bring the comforts of home on the road. We offer covers for your RV and tires to protect them from the elements as well as cleaners for the inside and outside of your camper. We even offer lighting and outdoor living accessories to make your stay in camp more enjoyable. You’ll be in good hands when you come to RVupgrades to find your necessities like electrical accessories and water treatment, but you can find just about anything you’ll need for any trip or for repairs in homeport right here on our site. Don’t forget - we offer all this because we know about it. We’ve lived the life, so if you aren’t sure what you need or what you’re looking for, call us at 866-332-7881 to talk with a representative. We’ll help you get to the bottom of what you need.

Get All the Essential RV Accessories You Will Need At RVupgrades

The use of a recreational vehicle is so liberating. There are so many advantages it has over other forms of travel and it gives you so much flexibility when on the road that it’s little surprise RVing has seen such a surge in popularity in the past several years. For those who enjoy the RV lifestyle, there just can’t be any replacement for it.

RVing lets you get up close and personal with any spot you travel to. If you like the outdoors, you can bring your RV to designated campsites or even anywhere else RVs are permitted and make a stay of whatever length you desire. If you’re traveling across the country you might only want to stay for a night or two, but if you are making a designated trip to a spot you’ve always wanted to see you could stay for a week or more. On that note, traveling by RV will offer you so many conveniences you just wouldn’t have access to if you were staying in an urban area or camping in a tent. When you bring your RV, you can bring so many of the comforts of home with you to your campsite and you’ll also have access to sources of power and water depending on the location, as well as the ability to retreat indoors when the weather doesn’t cooperate or turns really inclement. In addition to the amenities to which you will have access when you travel by RV, RVing enables you to see so much more and so much faster than you would if you were traveling on foot or limited to a specific area.

Traveling by RV enables you to see so much more of the country in a shorter span of time than if you flew or made an extended stay in any given area. Not only this but when you’ve planned accordingly, RVing can make it so much more affordable to take trips than flying and booking hotels ever could. It gives you the flexibility to plan your own schedule and come and go as is convenient for you and your traveling companions. You don’t necessarily need to plan weeks or months in advance and can make alterations to your route as you please or in order to make detours for points of interest you may have only discovered on the trail.

And while you might be limited in where you can park your RV, you’ll have a great degree of flexiblity with what you’re visiting when you travel in that fashion. If you tow your RV, you’ll have the ability not only to explore the wilds but to take your truck into any nearby urban areas where you wouldn’t be able to leave your RV easily.

The ability to bring the comforts of home, the conveniences of power and water and the ability to escape from the weather are only a few of the benefits that RV travel offers its adherents. There is also the freedom that it gives the traveler, that so many RVers wouldn’t trade for the world. RVers are free to travel the country by open road on their own time and as they please. There’s little more liberating than that - it’s just like how sailors feel about the sea, except RVers have that freedom on land. There’s no replacement for the freedom you will enjoy when you partake in the RV lifestyle. You’ll have the ability to camp in as rough a fashion or as refined as you like, and the open road before you yawns with opportunity.

Find Your Essential RV Accessories Here at RVupgrades
It’s true that RVing is a freeing experience that will let you see the country with relative ease and convenience. That being said, there are some RV accessories that every smart RVer knows never to leave home port without. If you forget any of these RV accessories (or even others) your trip can easily go from enjoyable to hellacious in no time. It’s impossible to construct a truly comprehensive list of completely necessary RV accessories because you learn about a lot of things you needed on the trail and make accommodations over the course of your travels. That being said, there are definitely some essentials you’ll never want to leave home without. The following accessories will not only make your travels possible but more comfortable as well. Make sure you are well prepared with them before your camping trip. Even though this is not a complete list of RV essentials, start here to make sure you have some of your bases covered.

Hitching, Chocks, and Levelers
Once you get to your campsite, you may want to unhitch and make sure that your RV is set up safely and effectively. You also presumably don’t want your RV to roll away on you (or with you in it) for those purposes you’ll need jacks to make it easier to get yourself hitched up when it’s time to move as well as chocks and levelers. You’ll need the right accessories to ensure that you can get hitched and unhitched safely in camp. Here at RVupgrades, make sure you’re well prepared with hitches, balls, covers, pins, and locks. In order to make sure you can get safely hitched and unhitched you’ll also find jacks here at RVupgrades.

Moreover, you won’t want to leave home without chocks to ensure that you’re secure in camp. Chocks are completely essential to ensuring that your RV is safely parked and stable. Fail to chock your RV and you might be making an unexpected and unscheduled detour. Additionally, If your campsite isn’t level, you’ll want levelers. While not completely necessary in all circumstances, they will make camping safer and on top of that, more comfortable. An RV leveler will also enable your RV refrigerator to work and help extend its useful lifetime. You won’t need to look any further than the pages of RVupgrades right here on our site to find the hitches, chocks, and levels you’ll need to make camp.

Even once you’re set up safely and securely at your campsite, there are so other necessities that will make your trip and your stay much more enjoyable.

Water and Sewage Accessories

Under no circumstances should you ever leave home without some necessary essentials tied to your provision, and disposal of, water. You need fresh water for so many everyday accessories it can be easy to forget about them until the absence of an adequate supply of freshwater is absolutely glaring. Think back to a time when the water was shut off in your house if you can remember one. It’s a ridiculous inconvenience, not to mention that at the very least we need water to drink just in order to live. When you don’t have access to water things that you take for granted like washing dishes, doing laundry or something as simple and essential as bathing become impossible. By the same token, you’ll need some completely necessary essentials in order to make it easy for you to store wastewater and then dispose of it safely and legally. You’ll find all of the essentials you need and many peripherals that will make life comfortable on the road right here at RV Upgrades.

The first thing you’ll need is several hoses, including at least one to devote to the use of providing fresh water for drinking. By maintaining a hose specifically for the use of drinking water you can prevent cross-contamination among other things. Bringing along more than one hose also gives you the safety of redundancy. Here at RVupgrades, you’ll find hoses, water tank fillers, and hose washers to help prevent leaks or as replacements. You’ll also want a water filter to ensure the safety of the water you find at various campgrounds for you use. At RVupgrades you’ll be able to find not only water filters but systems for softening water to lessen the risk of damage to your plumbing and fixtures. You will also find pressure regulators with gauges right here at RVupgrades to prevent damage to your plumbing or RV from overpressurized water. You’ll also want to bring along several fittings and faucets to be flexible and accommodate your water source and make connections, and you’ll want a water pump to send that water through your RV’s plumbing system, and you’ll find all that right here at RVupgradestore.com.

Just as important as the provision of safe water is, so is the storage, removal, and disposal of wastewater from your plumbing. You’ll need the right sewage storage tank, sewer hose, and tank treatment. All of these are essential to ensuring that your trip is comfortable and safe. You’ll need to determine the size and features you need in a storage tank, and you’ll want the right treatment to prevent odors from leaching into your RV and also to prolong the lifetime of your tank and prevent clogs. While some holding tanks come with a sewer hose, this is something you can’t go without and you might want a spare to keep yourself covered. When the time comes to empty your tank, well, no more needs to be said than that. You’ll need to empty your tank and you’ll need a sewer hose to do it. Be well prepared with the RV Accessories you’ll find here at RVupgrades.

Electrical Necessities

If you expect to have access to electricity at your campsite, you’ll want to bring along a few of these necessities. If your campsite offers electricity, you’ll want a power cord that can reach the power source in case your RV does not come with one. Otherwise, you’ll be in the dark. If your campsite is really primitive and does not offer power, you might want to bring along a generator to keep you up and running. That’s not so much a necessity as a power cord, but some would like the convenience of power while in camp. You’ll also want to bring a battery charger along with you, to prevent the risk of a dead battery, especially if you’re in camp without a power source and your battery dies. You’ll also find any adapters you might need here at RVupgrades to make sure you are prepared for whatever the trail can throw at you.

You might also want to invest in a solar charging rig, either to give you access to power when you are in camp without power or to give you another safeguard if your battery dies. Especially if your campsite gets a large average influx of solar power, it can be surprisingly cost-effective to power your trips with the help of the sun.

Sundry Other Necessities
Even when you’ve covered all of these bases, there are a few other necessities that you’ll want to bring along that don’t really neatly fit into any of these other categories. Even so, you wouldn’t want to leave for a trip without them.

You would be wise to bring along an air compressor in the event you lose pressure from your tires. You’ll be dead in the water if you lose too much pressure and an air compressor can help forestall this inconvenience.

Make sure you have some battery-powered light sources like flashlights - these are necessary for all emergency situations and anything can happen on the road. You’ll also want to make sure you bring along an emergency roadside supply kit to cover you in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.

When you come to RVupgrades to let us help outfit you with RV supplies and RV camping accessories for your travels, you will get not only all of these crucial supplies, but you’ll also be able to find just about everything else you’ll need on the road such as appliances, heaters, cleaners, covers, outdoor supplies and more. Things to Know When Buying an RV Fridge

Being on the road can be great, and it can be made a lot easier when you have the resources you need to completely live out of your RV. You may stop at a few campgrounds, set up shop, hook up the electricity, and turn an ordinary camping spot into a home for a few days. You may do a few activities, but you need to be ready for the time you spend inside the RV after dark or during bad weather. It’s why having electrical hookups are so important. You want to have the resources you need to make things functional when you’re stuck inside.

Better Towing With Husky Weight Distribution Hitches

If you want a smoother ride when towing your trailer, it might be time to add a Husky weight distribution hitch to your trailer. These unique hitches help to distribute the trailer’s weight more evenly across the frame of the trailer and the towing vehicle. Adding one of these hitches to your setup will give you a more level ride and increase the ease of towing in almost every way. In some states, you might even have to use one of these hitches if your trailer exceeds certain lengths or weight limits. No matter what your reason for using a weight distributing hitch, you can’t go wrong with a hitch from Husky towing.

Installing a Digital RV Thermostat

When you are at home, you want your house to be at a temperature that is comfortable and relaxing. To get this desired temperature, you have a thermostat where you can make these minor adjustments. The same should be said for your RV. Having that comfort on the road to be able to feel cool during humid summer nights or to add some heat to the RV during chilly autumn evenings can make a huge difference in how you spend your time.

After many times of use, your thermostat may not respond the way it did before. A small adjustment by one or two degrees can make the room feel 15 degrees cooler and you don’t want a minor adjustment to make you even more uncomfortable. If this is the case with your thermostat, It may be time to make a change and update it.

There are many RVs that come with an old-fashioned thermostat that offers a range of temperatures, but it can be a guessing game to find the precise temperature you need to feel completely comfortable, whether you are just trying to relax and wind down after a long day of activities or want to get a good night’s sleep.

It may be time to make an upgrade to a digital RV thermostat that has a much more precise temperature range that can help you feel right at home when you are on the road. It can be easy to make the change to a digital thermostat from an old analog thermostat and today, we will walk you through the steps you need to take to do it.

The first step is the process of removing the old thermostat. You should start by making sure that everything is turned off and that no power is connected. Once you have turned off the power, remove the thermostat cover and remove the screws holding it in place. There should be colored wires that are connected to the thermostat. Using a screwdriver, carefully disconnect the thermostat from the wires, making sure that the wires do not touch each other as you complete this task.

There should be some instructions with the new thermostat about how to properly connect it to the wires. Use a diagram and carefully complete the connections, taping off any wires you will not be using. Fasten the backplate of the new thermostat onto the wall. It may take two to four screws to do securely. With the mounting in place, you can put the digital RV thermostat into place, snapping it to the backplate and closing any compartments for batteries and controls. The thermostat is now connected and you can restore power and begin to use it, pressing the up and down arrows to adjust the temperature by single degrees, giving you a much more accurate reading of the temperature in the RV.

Note that you will want to read instructions for installing a digital RV thermostat because installation is different for each model. Many of the practices are generally the same though such as turning off all power and disconnecting the old thermostat to complete the wiring.

With some new technology in your RV, you can make everything feel as warm or as cool as you need and get a much more reasonable temperature that does not change drastically with one small adjustment like your old thermostat would do.

When it comes time to buy a new digital RV thermostat to make the upgrade, you want to go to RVupgrades to find the best selection of products and get the best deal.

Your RV is never going to be complete. You will always be looking for things that help make living on the road a little easier. These are items that will make everyday tasks a lot easier to manage and make your RV operate more like a home on wheels as opposed to a travel vehicle. It goes far beyond a digital RV thermostat. There are many parts that help with the mobility of the vehicle and its overall function and there are little things around the RV that make setting up your campsite much easier.

Whatever you need, you can find it at RVupgrades. What RVupgrades does is put your needs first. When you shop with us, you get everything at great low prices and fast shipping so you can focus on getting on the road and not on making repairs or having to buy something new just to use your RV. The Importance of Having an RV Portable Waste Tank

Before you set out on your next RV adventure, it’s always important to double-check what utility hookups your campsite will feature. If your campsite lacks sewer hookups but has a wastewater dump station, it’s time to invest in an RV portable waste tank. These tanks make the process of emptying your waste quick and easy without the need to break down your campsite.
